Mai Abdalla

Bio:

Mai Abdalla has professional experience in cybersecurity and IT. She completed her bachelor’s degree in information technology from the University of Khartoum (UofK) and a Master's degree in Cybersecurity from the University of Missouri-St. Louis (UMSL). During her time at UofK and UMSL, she was awarded for her outstanding academic performance and received the Best Research Award, respectively. Her research interests include malware analysis and privacy. One of her research projects focused on detecting cryptojacking by identifying signatures in WebAssembly binaries. While at UMSL, she was actively involved in campus clubs and student organizations, serving as the student coordinator for UMSL's Entrepreneur Club and as the treasurer of the Cybersecurity Club. In her spare time, she likes to participate in charity and volunteer work.

Why did you go into teaching?

I have always had a passion for teaching. I enjoy simplifying concepts for students and feel that I can be more innovative in developing new methods to simplify and convey information.

I anticipate that students will actively participate, interact with their peers, and exchange knowledge with one another.
